The ouroboros is among the oldest symbols humanity has – its roots reach back to ancient Egypt and Greece, more than three thousand years. It shows a snake or dragon devouring its own tail, forming a circle in which the beginning meets the end. Even its name ("tail-devourer") captures the essence: a symbol of eternity and infinity, a circle with no start and no finish.

Above all it represents the endless cycle of life, death and rebirth – the snake consumes itself and is born again, in constant renewal. It can also express personal growth: continually shedding the old and being born into the new. It often works as a protective amulet.
